IT’S OUR RIGHT
Project Overview
It’s Our Right was the first funded project delivered by members of our Director Board and Management Team prior to the establishment of Humanity Media CIC. The project was supported through the MiFriendly Cities programme and focused on empowering migrant and refugee communities by increasing awareness of human rights, strengthening community connections, and providing creative tools for self expression.
Through a series of workshops, discussions, and creative activities, participants were encouraged to explore themes of identity, belonging, and rights within their new communities. The project created safe spaces where individuals from migrant and refugee backgrounds could share their stories, build confidence, and connect with others facing similar experiences.
Although delivered before the formal creation of Humanity Media CIC, It’s Our Right represents an important foundation for the organisation’s current work. The knowledge, partnerships, and experience gained through this project helped shape the vision, values, and community centred approach that now defines Humanity Media CIC’s practice.
